Flood Watch issued May 26 at 3:40PM CDT until May 27 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, including the followingareas, Alexander, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin,Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Massac, Perry IL, Pope, Pulaski,Saline, Union, Wabash, Wayne IL, White and Williamson, southwestIndiana, including the following areas, Gibson, Pike, Posey,Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick, western Kentucky, including thefollowing areas, Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Christian,Crittenden, Daviess, Fulton, Graves, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins,Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, McLean, Muhlenberg, Todd,Trigg, Union KY and Webster, and southeast Missouri, including thefollowing areas, Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter,Mississippi, New Madrid, Perry MO, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard andWayne MO.* WHEN...Through Monday morning.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Widespread rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches occurred thismorning, particularly focused across southeast Missouri,western Kentucky, and far southern Illinois. Localized higheramounts up to 5 inches were observed. Another round of veryheavy rain is expected with severe thunderstorms through thisevening. This likely will lead to additional rainfall amountsof 1 to 3 inches, with localized higher amounts possible.This will lead to a heightened flash flooding concern,especially in those areas that already received flooding thismorning. Flash Flood Warning issued May 26 at 8:26PM CDT until May 27 at 1:30AM CDT by NWS Paducah KYFFWPAHThe National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a* Flash Flood Warning for...Henderson County in northwestern Kentucky...* Until 130 AM CDT.* At 826 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producingheavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches ofrain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches arepossible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expectedto begin shortly.HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.SOURCE...Radar.IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urbanareas, highways, streets and underpasses as well asother poor drainage and low-lying areas.* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...Evansville, Henderson, Mount Vernon, Corydon, Robards andHebbardsville.For locations that also have a tornado warning issued, seek shelterin an interior room at the lowest level unless absolutely necessaryto avoid flooding.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.
