Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued May 27 at 8:28PM EDT until May 27 at 9:00PM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DCAt 828 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a lineextending from near Brooklyn Park to Fort Meade to Greater Landover,moving east at 20 mph.HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.SOURCE...Radar indicated.IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches tofall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damagehomes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downedtrees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecuredlight objects may become projectiles.Locations impacted include...Baltimore, Bowie, Severn, College Park, Crofton, Greenbelt,Beltsville, Elkridge, Riviera Beach, Largo, Bladensburg,Baltimore-Washington Airport, Fort Smallwood Park, Millers Island,Fedex Field, North Point State Park, Sparrows Point, Back River, GlenBurnie, and Dundalk.A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central andnorthern Maryland.Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quicklyfrom severe thunderstorms.
