Special Weather Statement issued June 3 at 3:46PM CDT by NWS Shreveport LAAt 345 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms alonga line extending from near Dierks to 8 miles southwest of Arkinda toBogata. Movement was southeast at 30 mph.HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.SOURCE...Radar indicated.IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow aroundunsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation ispossible.Locations impacted include...Texarkana, Hope, De Queen, Wake Village, Ashdown, Nashville, NewBoston, Pittsburg, Winnsboro, Prescott, Clarksville, Mineral Springs,Dierks, Horatio, Foreman, Boxelder, Hagansport, Leesburg, Umpire, andIdabel.If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may leadto localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through floodedroadways.These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radiostations and available television stations for additional informationand possible warnings from the National Weather Service.If on or near a lake, get out of the water and move indoors orinside a vehicle. Ponding of water in urban or other areas isoccurring or is imminent.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 332 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms.
