Hurricane Warning issued September 26 at 5:16AM EDT by NWS Jacksonville FL* LOCATIONS AFFECTED- Blue Springs- Suwanee River Station- West Lake* WIND- LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Equivalent Tropical Storm force wind- Peak Wind Forecast: 30-40 mph with gusts to 50 mph- Window for Tropical Storm force winds: early this afternoonuntil early Friday morning- THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECASTUNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for wind 74to 110 mph- The wind threat has remained nearly steady from theprevious assessment.- PLAN: Plan for life-threatening wind of equivalent CAT 1 or2 hurricane force.- PREPARE: Remaining efforts to protect life and propertyshould be urgently completed. Prepare for considerable winddamage.- ACT: Move to safe shelter before the wind becomes hazardous.- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Extensive- Considerable roof damage to sturdy buildings, with somehaving window, door, and garage door failures leading tostructural damage. Mobile homes severely damaged, with somedestroyed. Evacuations and rescues arelikely.- PREPARE: Strongly consider protective actions, especiallyif you are in an area vulnerable to flooding.- ACT: Heed any flood watches and warnings. Flooding may occurin poor drainage and urban areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Widespread heavy rainfall falling over a short period of timeis expected as Helene accelerates northward into the Gulf ofMexico Wednesday and eventually making landfall somewherealong the panhandle of Florida on Thursday.
