Heat Advisory issued June 24 at 2:21AM CDT until June 24 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE* WHAT...Heat index values up to 107 expected.* WHERE...Portions of southwest and west central Iowa and eastcentral, northeast, and southeast Nebraska.* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM CDT this evening.* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heatillnesses.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke.To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety andHealth Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks inshaded or air conditioned environments.
