Heat Advisory issued June 23 at 10:32AM CDT until June 25 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE* WHAT...Heat index values ranging from 100 to 110 are expected.* WHERE...Portions of southwest and west central Iowa and eastcentral, northeast, and southeast Nebraska.* WHEN...From 1 PM Monday to 7 AM CDT Tuesday.* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heatcramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke.To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety andHealth Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks inshaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heatshould be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is anemergency! Call 9 1 1.

Flood Warning issued June 23 at 9:07AM CDT until June 24 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE...The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley NE has issued aFlood Warning for the following rivers in Nebraska...Platte River Near Louisville affecting Sarpy and Cass Counties.* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.* WHERE...Platte River near Louisville.* WHEN...From this afternoon to tomorrow morning.* IMPACTS...At 9.0 feet, The bike path at Highway 50 along the riverbegins to flood. Also, lowland flooding starts along both of thebanks.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 8:15 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 7.1 feet...or 1.9 feetbelow flood stage.- Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stagelate this afternoon to a crest of 9.1 feet this evening. Itwill then fall below flood stage this evening.- Flood stage is 9.0 feet.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.Additional information is available at water.noaa.gov.
