Heat Advisory issued June 6 at 6:50PM PDT until June 7 at 8:00PM PDT by NWS Reno NV* WHAT...High temperatures of 95 to 100 degrees again Friday inlower elevation communities including Reno-Sparks, Carson City,Minden-Gardnerville, Yerington, Hawthorne and Gerlach.* WHERE...Northern Washoe County, Greater Reno-Carson City-MindenArea, and Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties.* WHEN...Until 8 PM PDT Friday.* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and sunny skies may cause heatillnesses to occur, especially for those sensitive to heat andoutdoors for extended periods of time. Since this is the firstheat event early in the summer season, many people are not yetacclimated to heat and may be impacted more than normal.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children andpets should never be left unattended in vehicles under anycircumstances.
