Heat Advisory issued June 18 at 4:06AM MDT until June 18 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM* WHAT...Temperatures up to 106 expected.* WHERE...Chaves County Plains, including Roswell.* WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM MDT this evening.* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The hottest temperatures are expected duringlate afternoon, when skies will be mostly sunny. Intenseultraviolet radiation from the sun will make it very easy forpeople and animals to overheat and get a sunburn.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun or wear sunblock, and check up on relatives, neighbors, andanimals.Always look before you lock to avoid forgetting a child or pet in abroiling hot car.

This includes Ruidoso, Capitan, Roswell, and Fort Sumner.* WHEN...Monday evening through early Tuesday afternoon.* IMPACTS...For sensitive groups, don't do any physical activityoutdoors. Move activities indoors or to a time when air quality isbetter. For everyone else, don't do any intense or lengthy physicalactivity. Think about moving activities indoors or to a time when airquality is better.* HEALTH INFORMATION...Remember, your eyes are your best tools todetermine if it is safe to be outside.
