Flood Watch issued May 12 at 2:41AM CDT until May 13 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the followingcounties, Houston, Madison, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity and Walker.* WHEN...From 7 AM CDT this morning through Monday morning.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeksand streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms willdevelop across the Watch area Sunday into Monday producingrainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches with isolated higheramounts of 6 inches or more. Minor hail damage to vegetation ispossible.Locations impacted include...Crockett, Austonio, Apple Springs, Grapeland, Groveton, Lovelady,Kennard, Latexo, Weches, Pennington, and Centralia.If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radiostations and available television stations for additional informationand possible warnings from the National Weather Service.A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 300 PM CDT forsoutheastern Texas.

Flood Warning issued May 11 at 10:17PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Texas...Trinity River near Crockett affecting Madison, Walker, Houstonand Trinity Counties.For the Trinity River...including Crockett, Riverside, Goodrich,Liberty, Moss Bluff...Major flooding is forecast.* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.* WHERE...Trinity River near Crockett.* WHEN...Until further notice.* IMPACTS...At 43.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding continues in thevicinity of the gage impacting ranching operations and prisonfarms. Livestock should be removed from low areas in the floodplain.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 9:45 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 43.8 feet.- Bankfull stage is 35.0 feet.- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hoursending at 9:45 PM CDT Saturday was 43.9 feet.- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 43.7feet early Wednesday morning.- Flood stage is 41.0 feet.- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of43.7 feet on 01/30/1999.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/floodPlease report observed flooding to local emergency services or lawenforcement and request they pass this information to the NationalWeather Service when you can do so safely.Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drivecars through flooded areas.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
