Coastal Flood Warning issued September 22 at 6:54AM EDT until September 23 at 10:00PM EDT by NWS Wakefield VA* WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground level expectedin low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.* WHERE...Surry, James City and Isle of Wight Counties, andSuffolk.* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 10 PM EDT Monday.* IMPACTS...Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas will resultin an elevated threat of property damage to homes andbusinesses near the waterfront and shoreline. Water will be 1to 2 feet above ground level in some areas resulting in asufficient depth to close some roads and threaten homes andbusinesses. Flooding will extend inland from the waterfrontalong tidal rivers and bays resulting in some road closuresand flooding of vehicles.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Flooding is expected to continue throughTuesday.Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Iftravel is required, do not drive around barricades or throughwater of unknown depth.
