Strong west to northwesterly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h remain possible for parts of the Snowy Mountains above 1200 metres this morning and afternoon. DAMAGING WINDS averaging 80 to 90 km/h with peak gusts up to 125 km/h also remain possible over alpine areas above 1900 m this morning. The risk of damaging winds are forecast to cease by late afternoon or early evening. Locations which may be affected include Jindabyne, Perisher Valley, Charlotte Pass and Thredbo. Severe weather is no longer occurring in the South Coast, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes and Australian Capital Territory districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED. Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain and showers and westerly winds are expected during Friday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the South West Slopes, Snowy Mountains and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts.
