Major Heat Risk. Overexposurecan cause heat cramps and heat exhaustion to develop and, withoutintervention, can lead to heat stroke. For the Blowing DustAdvisory, visibility between one-quarter and one mile in blowingdust expected.* WHERE...Northwest Pinal County.* WHEN...For the Excessive Heat Warning, until 8 PM MST Friday. Forthe Blowing Dust Advisory, until 8 PM MST this evening.* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly duringextreme heat events. Hazardous driving conditions due to reducedvisibility.An Excessive Heat Warning means that a period of very hottemperatures, even by local standards, will occur. Actions should betaken to lessen the impact of the extreme heat.Stay indoors and seek air-conditioned buildings. Drink water, morethan usual, and avoid dehydrating alcoholic, sugary, or caffeinateddrinks. Dress for the heat - lightweight and light-colored clothing.Eat small meals and eat more often. Monitor those with a highervulnerability to heat, including small children. Check in on family,friends, and neighbors, especially the elderly. If engaging inoutdoor activity, take longer and more frequent breaks and avoid thehottest parts of the day.
