Flood Advisory issued May 19 at 4:19PM EDT until May 19 at 6:15PM EDT by NWS Charleston SC* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.* WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia, including the followingcounties, Bryan, Bulloch, Chatham, Effingham and Evans andsoutheast South Carolina, including the following counties,Beaufort and Jasper.* WHEN...Until 615 PM EDT.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.Overflowing poor drainage areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 416 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers andthunderstorms were slowly diminishing and pushing south alongthe Georgia coast. As much as 1 to 3 inches has fallen insome areas today. Some areas remain flooded from the earlierheavy rainfall. Chatham County Emergency Management isreporting that some intersections throughout the county areflooded, but no roadways are currently closed. Similarconditions are likely being observed across adjacent countiesin both South Carolina and Georgia.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Hilton Head Island, Pooler, Bluffton, Port Royal, TybeeIsland, Springfield, Pembroke, Godley Station, DowntownSavannah, Savannah International Airport and I-16/I-95Interchange.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.
