Flood Watch issued May 16 at 3:17AM HST until May 17 at 8:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING FOR NIIHAUKAUAI OAHU MOLOKAI LANAI AND MAUI...* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Kauai, Niihau, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and Maui.* WHEN...Through Friday evening.* IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow ofstreams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, alongwith property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff.Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- A kona low north to northwest of the state will bring thepotential for heavy rain and thunderstorms through at leastFriday. The highest chance for excessive rainfall appears tobe over Kauai and Oahu through Friday. However all islands inthe Flood Watch area should be prepared for the possibilityof flash flooding.You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take actionshould Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

High Surf Advisory issued May 16 at 3:43AM HST until May 17 at 6:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR SOUTH FACING SHORES OF ALL HAWAIIANISLANDS UNTIL 6 PM HST FRIDAY....Rough conditions are expected along south facing shores throughFriday due to a combination of breezy onshore winds and a fresh,long-period south-southwest swell filling in. This swell willpeak later today through Friday.* WHAT...Surf of 7 to 10 feet.* WHERE...South-facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands.* WHEN...Until 6 PM HST Friday afternoon.* IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currentswill make swimming dangerous.Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don'tgo out.

Flood Advisory issued May 16 at 8:39AM HST until May 16 at 11:45AM HST by NWS Honolulu HI* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.* WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County.* WHEN...Until 1145 AM HST.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and instreams.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 832 AM HST, radar indicated that the area of heavyrainfall has expanded and now includes the entire island ofOahu. The highest rain rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour wereover the east side of the island from Manoa to Hawaii Kai. Aspotter report also indicated ponding of roads in Kapolei,and a lane of the H-1 Freeway closed between Fort Weaver Roadand Makakilo Drive.- This advisory includes the entire island of Oahu.Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas proneto flooding.Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions dueto ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.A Flood Watch is also in effect for Oahu through Friday evening.This advisory replaces the previous advisory that was in effect forthe island of Oahu in Honolulu County.
