Flood Watch issued May 15 at 2:54PM HST until May 17 at 8:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR NIIHAU KAUAI OAHU MOLOKAI LANAIAND MAUI THROUGH FRIDAY......FLOOD WATCH IS CANCELLED FOR THE BIG ISLAND...* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and Niihau.* WHEN...Through Friday evening.* IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow ofstreams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, alongwith property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff.Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- A kona low developing to our north will bring the potentialfor heavy rain and thunderstorms over portions of the statethrough at least Friday. The highest chance for excessiverainfall appears to be over Oahu and possibly parts of Mauicounty starting tonight, and persisting through Thursday. Thefocus for heavy rainfall then likely shifts toward Kauai onFriday.
