Red Flag Warning issued May 19 at 2:08PM MDT until May 20 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1PM TO 8PM MDT MONDAY FORWESTERN NM AS WELL AS THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY AND THE SANDIAAND MANZANO MOUNTAINS DUE TO STRONG WINDS, VERY LOW HUMIDITY ANDAN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE....Critical fire weather conditions are expected on Mondayafternoon across western and portions of central New Mexico.Strong west to southwest winds will increase in advance of anapproaching disturbance and surface winds may gust near 50 mphduring the afternoon. Humidity recovery tonight will be poor tofair which will allow humidity values to quickly bottom out closeto or within the single digits Monday afternoon. In addition, theatmosphere is forecast to be unstable with excellent mixing.Strong winds and low relative humidity values are also expectedacross eastern New Mexico, however recent rainfall and ongoinggreenup will mitigate the critical fire weather concerns.The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red FlagWarning...which is in effect from 1 PM to 8 PM MDT Monday. TheFire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.* AREA AND TIMING...Northwest Plateau (Zone 101), West CentralMountains (Zone 105), Middle Rio Grande Valley (Zone 106) andthe West Central Basin and Range (Zone 109) from 1 PM to 8 PMMDT Monday.* 20 FOOT WINDS...West to southwest 25 to 35 mph with occasionalgusts to 50 mph.* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...6 to 12 percent.* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.Outdoor burning is not recommended..Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in thefield of this Red Flag Warning.
