Strongest winds in exposed areas and just northeast of higher terrain features. * WHERE...Navajo Nation in Arizona, Little Colorado River Valley, Mogollon Rim, Kaibab Plateau, Marble and Glen Canyons, Grand Canyon Country, Coconino Plateau, Yavapai County Mountains, and Oak Creek and Sycamore Canyons. * WHEN...Until 8 PM MST /9 PM MDT/ this evening. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could snap resulting in a few power outages. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, such as RVs, campers, and tractor trailers. Use extra caution. Secure loose outdoor objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind.

Red Flag Warning issued June 28 at 12:30PM MST until June 29 at 7:00PM MST by NWS Flagstaff AZ The National Weather Service in Flagstaff AZ has issued a Red Flag Warning due to strong winds and low relative humidity in effect from 10 AM MST /11 AM MDT/ to 7 PM MST /8 PM MDT/ Monday, and a Fire Weather Watch due to strong winds and low relative humidity in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. * WHAT...Critical fire weather conditions expected. For today's Red Flag Warning, southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts 45 to 55 mph and relative humidity 9 to 18 percent. For Monday's Red Flag Warning, southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and relative humidity 7 to 17 percent, and for Tuesday's Fire Weather Watch, southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and relative humidity 6 to 15 percent. * WHERE...Little Colorado River Valley, Eastern Mogollon Rim, White Mountains, and Northeast Plateaus and Mesas South of Hwy 264. This includes portions of the Apache-Sitgreaves and Coconino national forests. * WHEN...For the first Red Flag Warning, until 8 PM MST /9 PM MDT/ this evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from 10 AM MST /11 AM MDT/ to 7 PM MST /8 PM MDT/ Monday. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Rapid spread and growth of any new or existing fires. Fires will have the potential to exhibit extreme fire behavior. Elevated potential for new fire starts. Winds may damage power lines, resulting in new fire starts, mainly today. Do your part: No open flames or sparks, keep vehicles off of dry grass, properly dispose of cigarette butts, and avoid power equipment that creates sparks. One less spark, one less wildfire.
