Red Flag Warning issued June 18 at 12:37AM PDT until June 18 at 12:00PM PDT by NWS Hanford CA...Red Flag Warning Extended until Noon...* AFFECTED AREA...The West Hills from Merced to Kern County andthe Kern County Mountains from Frazier Park to Tehachapi, andthe San Joaquin Valley.* WIND...Strong overnight winds will begin to relax throughout themorning hours, however wind will remain gusty. Expect earlymorning wind gusts to 55 mph to relax to 25 mph by noon for TheKern County Mountains. Elsewhere, gusts to 30 mph will slowlyrelax through the morning hours.* HUMIDITY...Minimum relative humidity values of 10 to 15 percentwith local areas as low as 5 percent during the late morninghours after poor overnight recoveries of only 20 to 40 percent.* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditionsare either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination ofstrong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures cancontribute to extreme fire behavior.
