Red Flag Warning issued June 16 at 8:51AM PDT until June 17 at 3:00PM PDT by NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM PDT MONDAY FOR GUSTYNORTHWEST TO NORTH WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THEINTERSTATE-5 CORRIDOR IN NORTHWEST LOS ANGELES COUNTY AND THEVENTURA COUNTY MOUNTAINS....Dangerous fire-weather conditions are expected to continuethrough at least Monday afternoon. Strong northwest to north windswill combine with low daytime relative humidity, and only poor tomoderate overnight relative humidity recovery. These conditionswill be favorable for the rapid growth and spread of wildfires,including the ongoing Post Fire complex.The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued aRed Flag Warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, whichis in effect until 3 PM PDT Monday.* WINDS...Northwest to north winds will gust to 45 to 55 mphtoday, increase to 60 to 70 mph range tonight, and thengradually decrease to 30 to 50 mph through the day Monday.Sustained wind speeds will generally be in the 20 to 40 mphrange.* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum afternoon relative humidity valuesare expected to range from 15 to 25 percent, locally as low as10 percent in downslope flow favored areas. Only poor tomoderate overnight recovery to around 25 to 40 percent tonight.* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid rates of firegrowth and spread, especially tonight.A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditionsare either occurring now, or will shortly.
