Hydrologic Outlook issued May 14 at 3:51PM MDT by NWS Pueblo COESFPUBThis outlook is primarily for western Las Animas and HuerfanoCounties at elevations below 11,000 feet.This outlook is valid from May 14 to May 17, 2024.The potential for increased runoff and inundation of low-lyingareas, due to accelerated snowmelt potential, is higher thannormal in western Las Animas and Huerfano Counties....OUTLOOK FOR THE NEXT 3 DAYS...Recent storms producing snowfall along the east slope of the Sangrede Cristo Mountains has led to above normal mountain snowpackconditions for the middle of May in western Las Animas HuerfanoCounties.A storm system is expected to impact the area beginning Wednesdayafternoon, May 15, and last through the early morning hours onFriday, May 17. This system has the potential to produce rainfallfor areas below 11,000 feet with total precipitation amounts rangingfrom 0.25 to 0.5 inches.
