Special Weather Statement issued July 17 at 4:55PM MDT by NWS Boise ID At 455 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Bruneau Canyon Viewpoint, or 28 miles southwest of Glenns Ferry, moving north at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Areas of blowing dust possible. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Bruneau Canyon Viewpoint, Pot Hole Butte, and Hot Spring. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Bruneau, Bruneau Canyon Viewpoint, and Hot Spring. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
