Special Weather Statement issued July 18 at 3:50PM MDT by NWS Boise ID At 350 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Coonskin Butte, or 33 miles west of Twin Falls, moving north at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Areas of blowing dust possible. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of west central Twin Falls and east central Owyhee Counties. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
