River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Illinois River at Valley City. * WHEN...From Friday evening until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, The road to Norbut Fish and Wildlife area is flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 13.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Friday evening and continue rising to 14.3 feet Monday evening. Additional rises are possible thereafter. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
