If the heaviest rain producers repeat over the same areas, this may lead to localized flooding issues. Central Jefferson County in south central Illinois... * Until 730 PM CDT. * At 642 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Woodlawn, or 9 miles west of Mount Vernon, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This dangerous storm will be near... Mount Vernon and Woodlawn around 645 PM CDT. Bluford around 700 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Belle Rive and Waltonville. This includes the following highways... Interstate 57 in Illinois between Mile Markers 87 and 100. Interstate 64 in Illinois between Mile Markers 63 and 90. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows.
