In east central Kansas, Chase. In south central Kansas, Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Reno, Sedgwick and Sumner. In southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...From 1 AM CDT Thursday through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Several rounds of thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall are expected from late tonight through early Friday morning. While not everyone will see flooding from rainfall, it appears likely that several locations will receive enough rainfall to cause flooding concerns. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Arkansas River at Arkansas City affecting Cowley County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Arkansas River at Arkansas City. * WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Flooding of agricultural lands can be expected with bank overflows on west side of river. West Chestnut Avenue west of the river floods, expect road closure. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:00 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 12.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight and continue falling to 5.2 feet early Monday afternoon. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued late tonight at 330 AM CDT.
