Flood Watch issued June 8 at 12:17AM CDT until June 8 at 10:00AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Kansas, including the following counties, Chautauqua, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho and Wilson. * WHEN...Until 10 AM CDT this morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional showers and storms producing very high rainfall rates are expected overnight and into Monday morning across far southeast Kansas. With ground already saturated, flooding will be likely. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Flash Flood Warning issued June 8 at 5:02AM CDT until June 8 at 9:00AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS At 502 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding over numerous roadways across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Parsons, Chanute, Erie, Altamont, St. Paul, Thayer, Mound Valley, Galesburg, Labette, Earlton, Lake Parsons, South Mound, Dennis, Big Hill Lake, Parsons Tri City Airport and Chanute Airport. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
