In north central Kansas, Clay, Cloud, Ottawa, Republic and Washington. In northeast Kansas, Brown, Jackson, Jefferson, Marshall, Nemaha, Pottawatomie and Riley. * WHEN...From 7 PM CDT this evening through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms are expected to move in from western Kansas and southeastern Nebraska overnight, which could produce multiple rounds of rainfall over the same locations. Amounts of 1 to 3 inches are forecast for most places, but localized amounts of 3 to 6 inches will probably occur somewhere in the watch area, which could lead to flooding. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

In northeast Kansas, Jefferson. * WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 339 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Eastern Topeka, Lawrence, Ottawa, Baldwin City, Osage City, Carbondale, Valley Falls, Oskaloosa, Tecumseh, Eudora, Richland, Wellsville, Overbrook, Lyndon, Centropolis, Burlingame, Perry, Pomona, Meriden and Scranton. - This includes the following highways... Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 137 and 155...and between mile markers 175 and 204. Interstate 35 between mile markers 166 and 198. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
