THE NEW WATCH IS VALID FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN MINNESOTA THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 6 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA WADENA IN NORTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA HUBBARD IN NORTHWEST MINNESOTA BECKER IN WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA GRANT OTTER TAIL WILKIN IN NORTH DAKOTA THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA RICHLAND THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ASHBY, BARRETT, BRECKENRIDGE, DETROIT LAKES, ELBOW LAKE, EMMAVILLE, ERDAHL, FERGUS FALLS, HERMAN, HOFFMAN, HUBBARD, LAWNDALE, MENAHGA, NARY, PARK RAPIDS, SHOREHAM, STAPLES AIRPORT, TWO INLETS, WADENA, AND WAHPETON.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 6 at 9:33PM CDT until July 6 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Grand Forks ND At 933 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Lower Hay Lake to near Philbrook to near Erdahl, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Fergus Falls, Wadena, Ottertail Lake, New York Mills, Elbow Lake, Parkers Prairie, and Battle Lake. This includes Interstate 94 in Minnesota between mile markers 58 and 80. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
