LOUISTHIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF AITKIN, BRAINERD, CASS LAKE,CASTLE DANGER, CLOQUET, DULUTH, EAST GULL LAKE, ESTERDY,GRAND MARAIS, GRAND RAPIDS, HINCKLEY, INTERNATIONAL FALLS,LAKE SHORE, PINE CITY, PINE RIVER, SCHLEY, SILVER BAY,TWO HARBORS, AND WALKER. Flood Watch issued June 18 at 10:31AM CDT until June 19 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Duluth MN* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...In Minnesota, in north central Minnesota, Koochiching,North Cass and Itasca Counties. In northeast Minnesota, centraland northern St. Louis County. This includes the Tribal Lands ofthe Bois Forte Band, Nett Lake, Deer Creek and, Lake Vermilionareas. Recreation spots such as Voyageurs National Park. This alsoincludes the Boundary Waters western area.* WHEN...Through Wednesday morning.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Showers and thunderstorms are expected to bring heavy raintoday, with localized areas receiving up to 1 to 3 inches ofrain. This will fall on top of already saturated soils andrivers with normal to above normal streamflow. The heaviestrain is expected early this morning and through the daytoday.- Flood safety information can be found atwww.weather.gov/safety/flood.Portage and hiking trails may become slick and potentiallyimpassable and ponding of water could inundate low-lying campsitesacross the Boundary Waters.
