This alsoincludes the Boundary Waters western area.* WHEN...Through Wednesday morning.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Showers and thunderstorms are expected to bring heavy raintoday, with localized areas receiving up to 1 to 3 inches ofrain. This will fall on top of already saturated soils andrivers with normal to above normal streamflow. The heaviestrain is expected early this morning and through the daytoday.- Flood safety information can be found atwww.weather.gov/safety/flood.Portage and hiking trails may become slick and potentiallyimpassable and ponding of water could inundate low-lying campsitesacross the Boundary Waters.

Between1 and 5.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amountsup to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding isalready occurring.HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstormsproducing flash flooding.SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...Hibbing, Grand Rapids, Lake Vermilion, Virginia, Chisholm,Mountain Iron, Cohasset, Coleraine, Keewatin, Buhl, Nashwauk,Cook, Tower, Taconite, Orr, Meadow Brook, Warba, Zemple, CraneLake and Gheen.Numerous roads, including county and state highways, are under waterin places. Extensive flooding may continue to worsen beforeimproving. Roads may be washed out or gone under flood waters.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
