This alsoincludes the Boundary Waters eastern and central area.* WHEN...Through Wednesday morning.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Showers and thunderstorms are expected to bring heavy raintoday, with localized areas receiving up to 1 to 3 inches ofrain. This will fall on top of already saturated soils andrivers with normal to above normal streamflow. The heaviestrain is expected early this morning and through the daytoday.- Flood safety information can be found atwww.weather.gov/safety/flood.Portage and hiking trails may become slick and potentiallyimpassable and ponding of water could inundate low-lying campsitesacross the Boundary Waters.

Between 1 and 2inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoingor expected to begin shortly.HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.SOURCE...Radar.IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urbanareas, highways, streets and underpasses as well asother poor drainage and low-lying areas.* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...Ely, Virginia, Eveleth, Mountain Iron, Hoyt Lakes, Gilbert,Aurora, Babbitt, Biwabik, Cherry, Embarrass, Winton, Birch Lake,White Iron Lake, Bear Head Lake State Park, Robinson, BurntsideLake, Fall Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Near TroutLake and Basswood Lake.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
