Special Weather Statement issued July 4 at 7:27PM EDT by NWS State College PA At 726 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Rebersburg to Poe Valley State Park to Lewistown. Movement was northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Lewistown, Woodward, Burnham, Highland Park, Mcalisterville, McClure, Millheim, Beaver Springs, Aaronsburg, Rebersburg, Coburn, Troxelville, Madisonburg, Alfarata, Weikert, R.B. Winter State Park, Snyder-Middleswart State Park, Reeds Gap State Park, Belltown, and Laurelton Center. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central Pennsylvania.
