For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 110 degrees expected. * WHERE...In Georgia, Coastal Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Liberty, Coastal McIntosh, and Inland Chatham Counties. In South Carolina, Beaufort, Coastal Colleton, and Coastal Jasper Counties. * WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 7 PM EDT this evening. For the Heat Advisory, from 11 AM to 7 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
