Area creeks andstreams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are set to moveacross southeast Texas and central Louisiana today andFriday. Shortwave trof moving across northeast Texas willsend these rounds into a deeply moist airmass feeding rightoff the Gulf consisting of PWATs 1.60 to 2.00 inches.Rainfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour will be possible andareas with ongoing flooding are urged to be mindful of veryswiftly exacerbated flooding conditions. Current forecastsindicate each line should move through the region ratherprogressively, move fairly progressively, however, anydeviation or slow-down of precipitation would possibly result in another 3 to 8inches of rain inside the flood watch area. Flood Warning issued May 2 at 6:46PM CDT until May 3 at 9:00AM CDT by NWS Lake Charles LA* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall isexpected.* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the followingcounties, Hardin, Jefferson and Orange.* WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT Friday.* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lyingand flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 646 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gaugesindicated heavy rain due to Runoff from earlier rainfall.Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in thewarned area. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen.- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in thewarned area.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, Nederland, Groves, PortNeches, Vidor, Bridge City, West Orange, Nome, CentralGardens, Hamshire, Mauriceville, Bevil Oaks, China, RoseCity, Pine Forest, Southeast Texas Regional Airport, PortAcres and La Belle.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/floodTurn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
