Winds speedsincreasing during much of the daytime hours, with gusts over45 mph across much of southern New Mexico and far west Texas.Conditions remain dry during the day with relative humiditydropping to 10 to 15% mid-afternoon. Fuel conditions are dry dueto lack of rainfall in the past month as well as the precedentdrought status. The combination of weather factors and drygrassland, brush, and timber will lead to critical fire dangerand risk of new fire starts and rapid spread.* WIND...West at 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 to 50 mph.* HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent.* EXPERIMENTAL RFTI...5 to 6 Critical in South-Central NewMexico and Far West Texas desert lowlands.* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.Outdoor burning is not recommended.A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditionsare either occurring now, or will shortly.
