Coastal Flood Warning issued September 23 at 3:51PM EDT until September 23 at 10:00PM EDT by NWS Wakefield VA* WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.* WHERE...Surry, James City and Isle of Wight Counties.* WHEN...Until 10 PM EDT this evening.* IMPACTS...Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas will resultin an elevated threat of property damage to homes and businessesnear the waterfront and shoreline. Water will be 1 to 2 feetabove ground level in some areas resulting in a sufficient depthto close numerous roads and threaten homes and businesses.Flooding will extend inland from the waterfront along tidalrivers and bays resulting in some road closures and flooding ofvehicles.Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Iftravel is required, do not drive around barricades or throughwater of unknown depth.
