Coastal Flood Warning issued September 23 at 3:24AM EDT until September 25 at 12:00AM EDT by NWS Wakefield VA* WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.* WHERE...Westmoreland and Northumberland Counties.* WHEN...Until midnight EDT Tuesday night.* IMPACTS...Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas will resultin an elevated threat of property damage to homes andbusinesses near the waterfront and shoreline. Water will be 1to 2 feet above ground level in some areas resulting in asufficient depth to close numerous roads and threaten homesand businesses. Flooding will extend inland from thewaterfront along tidal rivers and bays resulting in some roadclosures and flooding of vehicles.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Water levels slowly trend down throughmidweek, but additional flooding is still expected intoWednesday.Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Iftravel is required, do not drive around barricades or throughwater of unknown depth.
