Coastal Flood Warning issued September 23 at 9:59AM EDT until September 23 at 10:00PM EDT by NWS Wakefield VA* WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground levelexpected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidalwaterways.* WHERE...Surry, James City and Isle of Wight Counties, andSuffolk.* WHEN...Until 10 PM EDT this evening.* IMPACTS...Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas will resultin an elevated threat of property damage to homes andbusinesses near the waterfront and shoreline. Water will be 1to 2 feet above ground level in some areas resulting in asufficient depth to close some roads and threaten homes andbusinesses. Flooding will extend inland from the waterfrontalong tidal rivers and bays resulting in some road closuresand flooding of vehicles.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Peak water levels on Tuesday are forecastto be slightly lower, but additional flooding is stillexpected.Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
